Five of the world's top 10 cities are American, led by New York

So what

US metros dominate the global top 10 on economic weight, but their scores collapse on environment and governance - New York ranks 262nd for environment. European and Australian cities such as Oslo, Copenhagen and Stockholm trade economic scale for far better liveability and governance. For location and talent decisions, the composite rank hides trade-offs that matter more than the headline position.
