Intellectual property

Last updated: 19 October 2026

This wording is a draft pending final legal review.

1. Our approach to intellectual property

Killerchart is a curated collection of charts from verified sources and from our members. We respect the intellectual property rights of publishers, data providers and creators, and we expect our members to do the same.

Charts are shown on Killerchart only when we believe we have a lawful basis to do so: an open licence, permission from the rights holder, or a rights declaration from the contributor. Where no such basis exists, we show a placeholder and link to the original instead of the image.

2. Rights levels

Each chart carries a rights level. Charts marked “link only”, “permission needed” or “check third party” are never displayed as images on Killerchart; only their description, context and a link to the original are shown.

Charts shared under an open licence (such as CC BY) or with documented permission may be displayed with attribution and a link to the source.

3. Reporting a rights issue

If you believe content on Killerchart infringes your rights, use our rights-issue form. We review every report promptly and remove content where a claim is substantiated.

Reports must include a good-faith statement. Knowingly false reports may result in action against the reporting account.

4. Repeat infringement

Members who repeatedly submit content that infringes the rights of others may have their submissions restricted or their accounts closed.
